    Simulation of the high voltage impulse generator

  • Original language description

    The most common use of the high voltage impulse generators is probably in the high voltage laboratories. They produce output waveforms of desired parameters that are usually used for testing high voltage equipment. These output waveforms should fulfill some requirements that are strictly given by the standards. However, these standardized parameters of the output waveform can be affected by parameters of the load or the generator itself. The most critical cases for the test object are a big capacitive load like a high voltage cables and power transformers with high inductance. For these reasons it is wise to support practical measurements by the simulations and to determine limits of a real generator.
