Design of a high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor for electric kart
Original language description
The subject of the article is a design of a permanent magnet synchronous motor for usage in an electric sports kart. For the purpose of maximal weight savings, the motor is designed as a high-speed machine. The article further deals with necessary reduction in the mass of the chassis of the motor. The possibility of necessary changes is evaluated on base of computer-assisted analyses—ventilation and thermal models obtained using applicable numeric methods. The machine is supposed to be passively cooled.
