The aspects of usage of four-layer windings in open-slot induction machines
Original language description
This article deals with the usage of four-layer windings in induction machines. The technology of man- ufacture of these windings is more complicated, but better properties of the motor may be reached. In the article, a four-layer winding is compared with traditional double- layer winding and the differences in the design of the machine are described. Obtained theoretical insights are used to compare parameters of three identical open-slot induc- tion motors—first with double-layer winding, second withfour-layer winding and third with four-layer shifted wind- ing. Compared values are calculated analytically and using numerical and FEM methods.
