Influence of SiO2 nanoparticles and nanofibrous filler on the dielectric properties of epoxy-based composites

  • Original language description

Today, problems with the miniaturization of electrical machines necessitate the study of new materials or modification of conventional electro-insulating materials. The goal of this article is to show the possibilities for modification of epoxy resins using nanofillers. Final composite materials composed of bisphenol A – epichlorohydrin-based epoxy resin, SiO2 hydrophobic nanoparticles and polyamide or polyimide nanofibers as filler are demonstrated in this article. The influence of the filling options on the dielectric properties are then observed. We determined the best nanoparticles filling and results with polyamide and polyimide nanofibers shows significant improvements of observed dielectric properties.
