Safety assessment methods for decision-making during emergency operation states in the power grid - ETA
Original language description
Nowadays developing complexity of the electrical power grid hand in hand with rising dependency on the electricity supply flows in to strong need of reliability power supply. Recent researches and studies show that a broader power grid collapse or blackout might lead in to fundamental impact to social life. That forces from the local view the distribution system operators (DSO) to perform several studies recognizing the possibilities of island operation of a part of the grid as a final emergency tool enabling the system to remain functional when the rest of the grid collapses or is without the supply of electricity. This paper shows safety assessment methods which might be used during creation of an emergency plan concerning the question of island operation. Below stated information are based on recent research of possible island operation in the city of Pilsen.
