Approach analysis of modeling of electric arc for use in circuit breakers' special conditions
Original language description
With regards to the continuous development and slight shift of changes in electric power grid operation we can observe an evolution of conditions, in which circuit breakers operate and clear nominal and short circuit currents. The presented paper deals with the various possibilities provided by modern software tools solving the partial differential equations by implementation of finite elements method (FEM) or finite volumes method (FVM) when calculating specific operations such as clearance of small capacitive currents. The paper therefore theoretically and practically introduces the common issues of special operating conditions and practical usage of software modeling tools.
