Sensors in textiles for monitoring patients with edema
Original language description
The work is focused on the development of textiles with implemented electronic elements and sensors (hereinafter referred to as smart textiles) intended for long-term monitoring of patients with lower limb edema. This paper presents socks with integrated sensors that allow the lower limbs edema monitoring based on the tensometric effect. These sensors were created by conductive yarns knitted into textile. On these specially designed socks was researched the tensometric effect that arose from the tensioning of the sock. Several samples were examined, which used different conductive yarn materials. On these samples the edema was evaluated based on the change of the electrical parameters of the sensor.
