Analysis of three-level diode clamped inverter for grid-connected renewable energy sources
Original language description
Photovoltaic (PV) system applications in Renewable Energy Sources, Power Grid and Distributed Generation are widely increased due to rapid changes in the technology, crave for alternative clean energy, need to protect environment and also due to favorable regulations, incentives and the polices introduced by the various governments. The factors that should be taken into account when reliable power has to be transferred from PV to the end user are good quality, highly efficient and reliable power. If the PV module is giving peak reliability then the next important step to analyze is the PV inverter to improve the PV system reliability. There is a need of good reliable inverters and proper control of the inverter for reliable power supply with improved quality. This paper gives the analysis of three-level Diode Clamped Inverter connected to grid for improving the reliability of the PV system. The performance of DCI is studied and by using proper modulation technique for the grid connected inverter, the quality of output voltage and current increases which improves the power system reliability. The simulation is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK.
