Measurement of partial discharge calibration pulse propagation on different cable length using HFCT sensor
Original language description
A modern problem in cable insulation is the occurrence of partial discharge, which can occur on any part and length of the cable. One method for detecting PD is the use of HFCT sensors. Therefore, the actual question is how accurately the sensor determines the charge over the entire length of the cable. Using a HFCT sensor and a calibrator LDC-5/S3 as a charge source, we research three cables with different lengths. Based on the data obtained and the constructed diagrams, we were able to observe how the charge changes as the sensor moves along the entire length of the cable.
