The Probability-Based Model of an Electric Discharge Growth
Original language description
The analysis of the electric resilience of an insulating material is mainly the subject of experiments. However, with an increase in computing power, numerical simulations are more and more preferred as an alternative approach to the experimental and empirical efforts. Compared to the experiments, the numerical simulations are less demanding in terms of time and expenditures, but at the cost of the necessity to understand physical processes and their correct implementation into a numerical model itself. This article deals with the simplification of the physical processes of discharge phenomena and their implementation into the numerical model applicable for commercial purposes.
