A Compact UWB Antenna with Dual-Notch Band Filter for Cognitive Radio Applications
Original language description
In this article, a compact size of 25×30×1.6 mm3 Ultra-Wideband (UWB) microstrip patch antenna with dual-band notch filter is presented. The achieved UltraWideband was covering the band from 3.1 GHz up to 11.6 GHz. Meanwhile, two rejected notch bands at 6 GHz and 8 GHz corresponding to WLAN and X-band have been obtained with a stop-band filter. A microstrip notch-band filter was firstly designed and simulated individually, then integrated into the same substrate of the UWB antenna with the help of Printed circuit technology (PCB). Realistic radiation properties have been achieved with Omnidirectional characteristic suitable for cognitive radio applications with average realized gain of 3−5dBi and maximum radiation efficiency of 91 % at the passband.
