Based on a study of the press in West Bohemia of the time, this article presents information published in Czechoslovak periodicals after May 6, 1945, which relate to the process of the liberation of the former Czechoslovakia region, specifically the WestBohemia region. Newspapers of the time published reports not just on the visits of American generals in West Bohemia and on the aid the American Army provided to the Czechoslovakian people, but also on events of everyday life such as sports contests andballs.
