The book is written in Bulgarian. The book is devoted to Vojvodovo, a Czech village in north-western Bulgaria, founded in 1900 by about twenty evangelical families from the Czech village of Svatá Helena in Banat. The families left the latter place because of religious disputes and a shortage of land. Although Bulgaria engaged in several armed conflicts in the first decades of the twentieth century, the village of Vojvodovo flourished economically and the number of its inhabitants rose steadily during that period. Economic prosperity, based almost exclusively on agriculture, however, stumbled on the problem of land shortage after a certain time, which made a part of the inhabitants leave the village in 1928. This group believed the rumours about the country of opportunities and resettled to Argentina.
