The main characteristic feature of grammatical gender in Modern English is the fact that there is no grammatical gender in the language. The road to hero grammatical gender from Proto-Indoeuropean - Proto-Germanic - West-Germanic - Old English - Middle English - Modern English. Other means of expressing gender. Gender and the other grammatical categories. Gender in the Indoeuropean Languages and in other main language families in the World. Special usage of gender. Gender in Inuit (Eskymo) emerged through the splendid relationship between the Inuit People and Polar Bears (Thalarctos maritimus).
