Language Diversity in Europe
Original language description
The paper deals with issues of language and ethnic identity within Europe.. Globalization and unification tendencies influence contemporary society substantially. On the other hand, surprising expansion of national and regional movements has been happening even in the countries that were regarded ethnically completely homogenous. It is obvious that ethnic consciousness connected with the use of lesser used languages is not disappearing , on the contrary, it plays an increasingly important role. Variousapproaches of language communities are significant here, i.e. special strategies, which show how to help the population of a given region for revitalizing and reusing of dying languages, and which particular steps in everyday life can be most helpful.
