Environmental Cooperation as a tool for conflict transformation

  • Original language description

The publication consist of six case studies in which the coexistence of environmental cooperation with political conflict is tested (India-Pakistan, Korea-Korea, Armenia-Azerbaijan, China-Taiwan, Thailand-Cambodia and Palestine-Israel). Despite the growing number of projects declaring the use of environmental cooperation as a tool of conflict transformation and resolution, the authors believe that the environmental conditions of formation and functioning of cooperation in areas of conflict are far from clear. Although there are many studies of specific cases, systematic research and analysis through a single analytical framework is missing. The book which offers an analysis of the formation and functioning of environmental cooperation in the areas of political conflict is intended to fill up this notional gap.
