“Thanks, America!“: A Dramaturgical and Discourse Analysis of the Liberation Festival in the “Most American” city in Europe
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to provide an interpretation of the Liberation Festivals that took place in 2015, 2016 and 2017 in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The Liberation Festival is an annually celebration of the city’s liberation by the American Army during the Second World War. “Festival” is actually an umbrella term for a variety of smaller events and celebrations that take place in various locations in and around Pilsen. My paper is presented as a dramaturgical and discourse analysis of these three years of this event.
