The Department of Middle Eastern Studies organized a prestigious conference on African History. It is the 4th such conference under AEGIS (Africa-Europe Group on Interdisciplinary Studies) and Pilsen was chosen as the organizing university. The conference brought together several dozens of scholars from Europe, Africa, and the US who discussed current issues in African history inlcuding innovations in theory and methodology.
