Oldrich Blecha lived at the turn of 19th and 20th century. He was a significant cultural worker, organizer of musical life of Plzeň, piano teacher and composer. He founded e.g. the Musical Artistic Club that associated amateur and efficient active musicians, music-masters and also music-loving public. Further he established the private school of music where he taught (singing) together with his wife. They together also used to published the music-pedagogical monthly the Za hudebním vzděláním (To MusicalEducation). However the collecting of the folk songs of the Plzeň region in 40?s of 20th century which are now saved in the Ethnical Museum of Plzeň is considered to be the most significantact.
