Esters and Esterification in the Preparation of Future Teachers of Chemistry and School Practice
Original language description
This contribution is aimed at preparing students to pursue the future profession of chemistry teacher so that they can use their theoretical knowledge and experimental skills rationally and further develop them in practice. It should also serve chemistry teachers who are already meeting teaching goals in real terms. For practical reasons, the theme of esters was chosen because esterification, together with hydrolysis, represent an important area of theoretical and experimental teaching at different types of schools. Particular attention is paid to preparing ethyl acetate on a macro scale as well as modifying the working procedure for working with smaller quantities of substances, which brings savings in chemicals as well as time, and in addition increases the safety of work. All of these specifics are requested in the current teaching process.
