Modelling of evaluation of a company investment into an information system - case study
Original language description
The paper describes an example of a possible approach to the evaluation of an investment in a specific information system aimed at energy savings in a manufacturing-oriented company in the form of a case study. First of all, the demand on the input dataand the method's suitability in relation to the investment nature was compared when searching for the methods suitable for the investment evaluation. A specific evaluation of the benefit of the system implementation was carried out in two scenarios, using the incremental method by means of constructing a stochastic regression model of energy consumption. A specific case of how an information system is implemented in a company illustrates a possibility of how a quantitative evaluation of such a company investment can be carried out, and at the same time, it also shows that even a relatively high investment of this kind can have quite a short pay-off period.
