Original language description
As discussed in the literature, the small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) sector is a valuable source of economic growth, employment generation and competitiveness in the global market. Therefore, this sector needs to be strongly encouraged. The knowledge of some of the supporting tools and even their using is often discussed, as well as their importance to the SMEs performance. The aim of this paper is to explain how and why the public policy has turned toward SMEs. The following text points out the most used ways of SMEs support and brings a practical reaction to the chosen support instruments on a SMEs sample.
