The Issue of Healthcare Financing in Selected Countries

The sources of the healthcare financing are constantly discussed topic at any time, whether in the distant past as well as in the present. It is necessary to realize that not only the resources but also their effective use should be subject to analysis of the healthcare service market. However, despite of the fact where resources for financing healthcare come from it is priority that should be given to attention. Each country has specific funding conditions for healthcare, depending on whether it is more of a welfare state or if it supports more liberal approaches. The most important role of the private funding plays in the European Union the Private Health Insurance, in the context of public resources plays role the taxes and mandatory public health insurance. Presented contribution is devoted to selected aspects of these resources, which also points to the diversity of sources used for financing of healthcare in European countries.
