On coupling the sliding cross-bridge model of muscle with series viscoelastic element
Original language description
The contractile element coupled with the series connected viscoelastic element is presented. The contractile unit is described using the sliding cross-bridge kinetic model. The specific forms of the bonding and debonding rate functions correspond to features of the smooth muscle. The approximation of the moment distribution was applied to simplify practical use of this model of muscle fibre. The incorporation of the "series viscoelasticity" allows for more genuine modelling of smooth muscle tissues forwhich the contractile (associated with action-myosin nanostructures) form anly disconnected parts of the bulk tissue, containing abundant connective fibrous tissues.
