This paper deals with the problem of generic log file analysis. The paper introduces a Generic Log Analysis Model (GLAM) that is intended to be a reference model for log analysis, since there are no widely accepted standards, taxonomy or terminology. The GLAM model establishes a framework for log analysis and defines required terms and processes.
