The work presents the fault-tolerant extenstion of SOFA that allows the developers to create applications that require a high level of realibility. The fault tolerance is provided fully transparently by the Fault-Tolerant SOFA runtime. The designed underlying Realiable Group Invocation System (RGIS) provides fault tolerance trough SOFA component replication. The architecture supports unique feature of Dynamic Component Updating (DCUP) that allows dynamic distributed updating of software components without needs to stop the entire application.
