Original language description
Our approach to image region approximation consists of a few steps. The original image is segmented, polygonal approximation of the created regions is done. The texture is coded with a modified code similar to JPEG arithmetic code. 2D shape independent orthogonal transformation is used. Good PSNR valnes are achieved.
