In the geodesic shortest path problem we have to find the shortest path between two points on the surface so that the path leads along the surface. In the article, the description and solution of that problem is given. The case with forbidden areas on the surface is especially treated.

Nejkratší geodetika je nejkratší spojnice dvou bodů na (triangulovaném) povrchu, která vede celá po povrchu. Článek popisuje různá řešení hledání nejkratších geodetik. Podrobněji je rozebrán případ se zakázanými oblastmi na povrchu.
