Presented paper is focused in methods for the creating of maps for the Atlas of International Relation which were generated through XML (eXtensible Markup Language). First section of this article deals with maps of the atlas, used methods of cartographical interpretation (cartograms, cartodiagrams, colour scales etc.) and characteristics of chosen map projections (Times projection, stereographic projection). Second part discuss technologies, format, specificaions and software resources used for maps production. The most important part of this paper contains analyses of proposed method and above all proposals for an improvement and an optimalisation of part of the generating map system.
