A Survey on Coding of Static and Dynamic 3D Meshes
Original language description
In this chapter we survey recent developments in the area of compression of static and dynamic 3D meshes. In an introductory section we give a definition of meshes and define terms and notations related to meshes. Furthermore, we give an overview to coding techniques in general and describe the principles of mesh compression algorithms at a very informative level. The following two sections give an overview on single rate and progressivecoding techniques for static and dynamic meshes, explaining them inmore detail pointing out the main ideas of each encoding approach. We conclude each section with a discussion providing an overall picture of developments in the mesh coding area, highlighting advantages and disadvantages of presented approaches, and pointing out directions for feature research.

Přehled kódování statických a dynamických sítí
Czech description
V této kapitole poskytujeme přehled o posledních pokrocích v oblasti kódování statických a dynamických sítí. V úvodní části definujeme sítě a další pojmy z této oblasti. Dále poskytneme přehled obecných technik kódování a popíšeme principy komprese sítí.Následující dvě části poskytují přehled metod s konstatním datovým tokem a metod progresivního kódování dynamických sítí. Algoritmy budou detailně popsány s důrazem na jednotlivé klíčové myšlenky. Každá část je uzavřena diskusí poskytující celkový obrazo pokrocích v oblasti kódování sítí, ve které budou zdůrazněny výhody a nevýhody prezentovaných přístupů, a také naznačeny směry pro budoucí výzkum.
