    On spur helical gear coupling modelling considering real face width

  • Original language description

    The contribution presents a mathematical model of a spur helical gear coupling between two rigid toothed wheels considering a real face width in 3D. The wheels are mounted on discretized parallel shafts. The model suppose, the lines of contact move in the zone of action in the action plane, as the wheels rotate. The changes of contact lines positions and their total length are sources of internal parametric excitation in the coupling. The model of the coupling respects the possibility of gear mesh interruption along each of contact lines. The mathematical model is derived generally and can be easily included into a complex mathematical model of large rotating systems with gears by the modal synthesis method.
