    A dual-quaternion-based geodetic datum transformation algorithm

    The Bursa-Wolf geodetic datum transformation model is presented as a seven-parameter model for transforming co-located 3D Cartesian coordinates between two datums. The transformation involves three translation parameters, three rotation elements and onescale factor. We will briefly introduces the theory of quaternions and dual quaternions. Consequently, dual quaternions are used to represent rotation and translation parameters and the formula is derived for Bursa-Wolf model. We will compare this algorithm with another algorithm based on quaternions.
