    The paper deals with the topic of laser engraving modelling. More concretely it describes methods for the automatic detection of the heat-affected area on the real samples and aims at their comparison. Real samples are used as the main input for the modelling process and the detection should be provided several times during data pre processing. The paper outlines the format of processed data and the way of its acquisition.
