    Modelling and modal properties of the nuclear fuel assembly

    Presented work deals with the modelling and modal analysis of the nuclear fuel assembly (FA) of the hexagonal type (Fig.1). This FA is very complicated mechanical system which can be in term of modelling of vibrations decomposed to four component types [1] with idealized boundary conditions. The global model (2) of FA has to large DOF number n for calculation of dynamic response excited by different sources of excitation. Therefore we compile the condensed model using the modal synthesis method [3]. Thepresented methodology has been applied to modelling and modal analysis of the Russian TVSA-T FA in nuclear power plant Temelín.
