Original language description
This work is focused on numerical simulations of low-velocity impacts on unidirectional longfiber composite plates. Experimental tests are performed on rectangular simply supported plates loaded by steel impactor. Corresponding numerical models are created in LS-DYNA finite element code. The results in terms of deflection-time and contact force-time dependencies, and the resulting crack lengths are mutually compared.
