Solution of the mutual contact in the finite element analysis of twisted blades
Original language description
Finite element analysis is a suitable tool for the solution of blade dynamics. It is possible to solve complex problems related to blades interaction during their operation, which are characterized by mutual contacts and friction forces. Since the utilization of commercial codes for large and long contact problems can be inefficient due to high computational costs, alternative methodologies for the contact treatment are discussed in this paper. The presented methodology is based on the creation of various reduced blade models and on the derivation of expressions for contact and friction forces using several contact geometry simplifications.
