Deformation-dependent permeability in a model of homogenized porous medium
Original language description
We report on the homogenization-based modeling of the fluid-solid interaction which leads to the Biot poroelastic continuum coupled with the Darcy flow. The permeability coefficients can be computed for a specific geometry of the microstructure using homogenization of the Stokes flow. To couple the flow with the deformation of the poroelastic continuum, a corrected permeability tensor is introduced using the shape sensitivity related to the microscopic configuration in a form of the 1st degree Taylor polynomial with respect to the strain and pore pressure. The two-scale model is implemented using the SfePy finite element solver and tested for simple geometries. A significant influence of the solution-dependent permeability on the actual macroscopic deformation state has been observed.
