PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION FOR AUTOMATIC HARDNESS MEASUREMENT
Original language description
Hardness measurement enables fast and reliable identification of low quality material and helps to prevent its use in the production process. Automatic hardness measurement can speed up the measurement process and provides repeatable results in contrastto manual measurement that is time consuming and always affected by a human factor. On the other hand, the automatic measurement often fails, when the specimen surface is not well prepared. This article introduces an algorithm that enables measurement ofrough polished specimens and minimizes the effect of specimen surface properties.
