    Shape optimization of acoustic waveguide with compliant walls

  • Original language description

    We consider acoustic wave propagation in waveguide designed in part using compliant plates. Optimal design of such acoustic waveguides has many applications in construction of acoustic devices, or other structures used in the automotive industry, or civil engineering. The waves in the acoustic fluid are governed using the Helmholtz equation, whereas the compliant parts of the walls are represented using the Reissner-Mindlin plate model. The optimal shape problem is solved using computational optimization based on the gradient methods. For this, the sensitivity analysis is derived using the adjoint equation technique. The shape is parameterized using the spline box which enables to manipulate the mesh nodes. Examples of maximization of the transmission loss is reported.
