Original language description
The paper presents several advanced applications of the wide area monitoring system (WAMS),which are implemented in the WAMS designed by the AIS company, for on-line power network monitoring, such as on-line ampacity monitoring and frequency oscillations monitoring. It is also shown, that there are significant systematic errors in measured current phasors negatively influencing the calculation of actual line parameters. Hence, the method for calibration of the current phasor measurements is proposed. Finally, two case studies are devoted to the on-line ampacity monitoring and frequency oscillations detection, respectively.
