Numerical investigation of dynamics of rotor with fluid-induced instability
Original language description
This article introduces and discusses some concepts for identification of the fluid-induced instability of rotor supported by non-linear fluid-film journal bearings of a finite length. All these concepts can be used for an analysis in the time domain. Hydrodynamic forces in the bearings are described by the Reynolds Equation and the rotor is modelled employing flexible multi-body dynamics approaches and FEM-based methods for rotordynamics.
