A mathematical description of multibody mechanical systems containing flexible bodies often leads to a nonlinear set of differential–algebraic equations of motion which can be solved using various numerical integration schemes. In this paper, the possibilities of the commonly known Newmark integration scheme used on such systems are investigated and discussed.
