FRAMEWORK FOR PROSTHESIS OPTIMIZATION AND SUBJECT SPECIFIC REHABILITATION FOR TRANSFEMORAL AMPUTEES
Original language description
A prosthetic limb is a common rehabilitation treatment considered a standard of care after amputation. Despite tremendous efforts in the field, more research is needed to address clinical controversies and technical difficulties, for a better understanding of comfort and optimal load transfers throughout the gait cycle and other daily life activities. Our work is devoted to the development of a new framework expected to provide recommendations with respect to prosthesis design optimization and possibly a subject-specific rehabilitation program for transfemoral amputees, through the combination of gait analysis, modeling simulation and finite element analysis.
