On the numerical simulations of pantographs and catenary interaction
Original language description
Dynamics of the pantograph and catenary interaction is a very interesting task and it is efficient to create a dedicated software in order to have a tool for the numerical simulations of this problem. The paper deals with the description of the software development and employed computational approaches. It is based on the combination of finite element modelling and a lumped approach leading to nonlinear equations of motion, which are solved in time domain. Particular issues related to fulfilment of EN standard requirements and to consideration of various system properties are discussed.
