    Influence of mesh density on the analysis of textured journal bearings

  • Original language description

    The stability of the rotating system supported on the journal bearing can be improved by suitable texturing of the bearing shell. This contribution is focused on mathematical modelling of a textured bearing using the finite difference method and the study of mesh density impacts on static analysis results and estimated threshold speeds. The influence of various texture layouts on the threshold speeds is also investigated.
