Form-finding of tensegrity structures based on defined topology and following semi-automatic creation of corresponding Simscape models
Original language description
A modification of a numerical method for form-finding of tensegrity structures called Adaptive force density method in combination with building Simscape model is presented. The form-finding method is divided into two main parts: repeated eigenvalue analysis and spectral decomposition leading to finding feasible force densities and solving a system of equations in order to obtain coordinates of all nodes as the output. It uses pre-defined topology of the structure in the form of a connectivity matrix and desired altitude of chosen nodes as inputs. Based on calculated force densities, coordinates of nodes and a set of predefined parameters, a model in the Simscape software is created.
