In this work, different discrete interface modeling methods in the finite element method were compared on crack propagation in a double cantilever beam sample. The methods used were the cohesive zone model, extended finite element method, and finite element method. The numerical results were further compared with experiments on a simple double cantilever beam sample bonded using Scoth-Weld epoxy adhesive DP490.
