The paper deals with the macro-scale level mathematical modelling of homogenised smooth muscle. The composite model presented reflects both constitutive and geometrical nonlinearities of both muscle and collagen fibres. The activated contraction of musclof local deformation. Mixed finite elements are used discretising the large-deformation problems. Numerical simulations are presented.
