Median filters for some artifact and impulse noise filtering
Original language description
The aim of this paper is to present some nonlinear filters, such as median, recursive median filters and weighted median filters for application in biomedical signal processing. The main feature of these filters is capability to suppress non-Gausian noise, e.g. impulsive noise. Also two special rank order filters - the minimum and the maximum filters which output is minimum value and the maximum value in the in the sliding window are presented. Median filters can be also used in image processing. In this paper, some examples of median filters on one-dimensional biomedical signals are present.
