Experimental investigation of viscoelastic properties of soft biological tissues
Original language description
Human liver tissue specimen were studied in vitro in order to determine their viscoelastic properties. Small cylindrical specimen underwent a mechanical test using Perkin-Elmer DMA 7e. Creep test method was chosen to study the dynamical properties of the tissue. Loading force was prescribed and strain evolution was recorded. Resulting curves were compared to those characterizing behaviour of simple viscoelastic models and the unknown viscoelastic modules were obtained via the fitting process. These mechanical parameters serve as an input data for various models.
